Abstract

This introductory chapter outlines the central themes and objectives of the edited volume Women’s Pathways to Power: Cracking the Glass Ceiling. It situates the book within ongoing global efforts to address gender inequality across public, professional and private spheres. Despite notable progress in education, employment and political representation, women continue to face systemic barriers to power, including the gender pay gap, underrepresentation in leadership and structural discrimination.
